Exploring Chestnut Ridge

Are you looking for a day trip? Looking for an adventure? Right in your backyard is Chestnut Ridge county park in Orchard Park, NY. There are so many things to do at this park you’ll be coming back for more. The park is approximately 1231 acres and includes many hiking trails and stunning woods to explore.

In the summer months you can sit on top of the sledding hill and enjoy stunning views. There are numerous trails to hike including the famous eternal flame trail. From frisbee golf to tennis courts to a playground for the kids, there are plenty of things to keep you busy all day. You can also take your bike for a ride for a challenging workout. If you’re thinking of having a party or gathering, the park features shelters you can rent. There are plenty of opportunities for bird watching and just taking in all of nature’s beauty.

In the winter months you can enjoy sledding, a toboggan chute, snow shoeing and winter hikes. The park also features the casino with a nice warm fire to help take the chill out of the air. Over the course of the winter the county also holds different events, such as a winterfest and a day with Santa for the kids.

Whether you’re looking for an escape from city life or looking to get in touch with nature, Chestnut Ridge is a wonderful place to just relax and get away. It’s a wonderful thing having this beautiful park in our own backyard. So take a day and get out and explore!
